Well its time for part 2 of Ultimate Steps status update, Sorry its been some time but i had been on holiday then come back to a number of bits of bad news.

The passed few months i have been busy totally redoing the media system to make it better plus give it more of a community feel.

Like i have said before trying to give the best community feel i can is top of the list of things to do.

Here is a few items that have been added or made better.

• Site wide user login
• Go real full screen on video player
• Most recent watched videos
• User profiles
• User gallerys

Media Responses:

Media responses is a system that let you comment to uploaded media but adding your own video in reply, this can be a video you have made and then uploaded or you can pick to record a response using your webcam.

Well this is going to be the first of many updates and looks in to the new Ultimate Steps.

Its been along time away but not forgotten and I'm really pushing my own skill to make the site the best it can be, Using alot of new ideas and coding skills.

The latest to be added is a totally new menu system that i feel not only works better but looks better and makes link information more clear, It also fixs the error of the menu going behide a flash idea, that happened with the old menu.

Hi All,

Due to the fact the server the site runs on right now is not really cutting it and the fact i have a other site up and coming that's going need more of a kick I will be upgrading the server to a new one with more power.

This is due to take place sometime in the next few weeks and due to this the sites at some point will go off-line first for backup and then again for the move.

It is hoped that this will make viewing the site better and faster for the end user why at same time making it able to cope with the server load.

I'm not really sure how this works, but i thought id try and post a blog. :arty:

Over the passed hour i have just made a number of bug fixs and edits to the YourLSL Media system.

The main bug fix is with the comments as they where not posting to the file you where trying to comment on, this as now been fixed and users are now able to post comments to uploaded files.

The main edit is also to do with comments and that as you no long have to click 'view comments' to view comments made for a file as they now show inline under the file on the same page also with the fixed post comments form box.

So feel free to go and post comments in YourLSL Media and help make the community feeling grow.

Well as i have been unable to get Lisa a xmas card and i'm due to see her on sat and i don't want to risk not being able to find a card i like in Derby i have made her one myself just.

Just to let you know we have now updated the forums to the very latest version, in this version you will find a nubmer of new social networking systems.

From social groups to user photo albums, along with the user blogs.

Users are now also able to edit the colours and look of there user profiles along with adding friends.

Other new systems are social bookmarking, you will find this at the bottom on topics with links to add to on-line social bookmarking sites. You also find your now able to add tags to topics what you are then also able to search for. EG if your posting a topic about Lisa's panto in derby you could add tags like ' Lisa, panto, derby'

Just to let you know that at some point between 6pm-11pm on Monday the 17th Dec, The forums will be offline for a few hours why they are updated to the latest version.

This update will add some new systems and fix a few bugs on the forums, The new parts are aimed at making the forums more of a Social network.

User can now submit topics to the following social sites:

* Digg
* Facebook
* feedmelinks
* Furl
* Ma.gnolia
* NewsVine
* Netscape
* Reddit
* Slashdot
* SphereIt
* Spurl
* StumbleUpon
* Technorati
* YahooMyWeb

You find at the top of the topics a 'Submit Tools' link:


just click that to get a list of sites to add the topic to and then pick the one you want to add it to and then follow what that site says.

A full on casino as now been added to the forums with 10 games from slots to roulette to blackjack and so on.

You make money by posting on the forums but also by winning within the casino but if you lose you lose the money bet.

We also have 'Texas Holdem' where 2-10 players can play at the same time, please note to play there most be at lest 2 players in the game.

To make things even more fun there is a 'Sports Betting Pool' where people will be able to bet on upcoming events, yes we are going to hold some events and see just who is the forums poker king/queen.

To get to the Casino use the link at the top of the forum next to the Arcade link.

Now go have abit of fun and make some money, or lose it so you have to post more ;)

Users are now able to post and reply to topics in chit chat or start new topics there via email.

First off and the most easy one to do is to start a new topic in chit chat via email, to do this just do the following:

Send a email to reply@yourlsl.com with the subject being the name of your topic and the body being your message.

EG:


Please note that your topic will not show right away and can take up to 10-15 min to show.

To reply to topics via email you need to subscribe to the chit chat forum and pick 'instant notification by email for new threads and replies'

this will send you a email when theres a new topic or reply been posted, all you need to do then to reply is reply to the email, i find it best to remove the email body text and just enter your message in the reply email. DO NOT edit the subject.

Again it can take 10-15 min to show.

The forum as just under gone a few updates, there was not anything to big done just a few little bits added as follows.

Request Username

At the bottom of your user cp menu you find a link now where you can send a request to have a new user name.

Attachments

Viewing of the attachments as been edited to a nicer and abit more fancey way, you find that when clicking on the attached images they will now load up on the same page in a nice window.

News posts

The way news topics are showed have now been edited so the news post itself will show at the top of every page of that topic,

All the official album lyrics apart from rush have now been added to the main site and the sites menu as been updated so they are now linked.

Also the events scroller has been edited to fix a few bugs, mainly the fact it had stopped scrolling.
