andy mcnab books are good, but they may suit you, there mainly about his experiences in the army/sas , and about some secret agent type storyline

The Phillip Pullman Dark Materials trilogy's great.. Da Vinci Code is fab (in my opinion).. and anything by Marian Keyes is hilarious!

If you're into autobiographies, I'v just finished reading Victoria Beckham Learning to fly, and it's not like you have to be a fan od hers to read it, Its like a fantastic story..

I want to read Sharon Osbourne's now

If you like Chick-lit, go for Marian Keyes or Sophie Kinsella - the Shopoholic books are fab!
Jodi Picoult writed some v thought provoking books as well - the basis is kinda samey, but they are a good read - avoid The Pact tho.
The Lovely Bones is good as well.
Jane Green - The Other Woman - v funny in places!
And my two absolute faves:
Cecila Ahern - PS I Love You and Where Rainbows End (Tho I find it better reading the 'hardback' version of that - the layout seems to work better in a bigger size book).
