quick note about Jumpin Jaks Gig on 14th October

I have just had a phone call from Jumpin Jaks in Nottingham after I sent them a e-mail asking what time Lisa would be on stage and got told that they don't know yet.


The other thing they asked me was whether I'm a student or not and when I said no, they said "well it's only for students that night so u won't be able to get in"

Now I don't know if this is the same for the other venues she's doing but I just felt I should let u know incase any1 was planning on going.

Also not sure if this is in the right forum or whether it should be in PA and appearences.

We have student nights at ours but you don't need NUS to get in!!! :toms:

most unis/colleges require you to carry them all the time so that you can be identified for whatever reason....

Student nights are over 18! It means its for students who are at uni or in their last yr of 6th form!

And i don't even have an NUS card!

it may just be jumpin jaks cos it does say on their site that thursday is available for available for private hire. I just fort I'd let u know incase u wanted to check with the other venues just in case

A lot of bouncers are very aware of fake ID and only accept drivers licence or passports!

Been speaking to the manager of Jumpin Jaks and the reason that only Students with NUS card allowed to Lisa Gig on the 14th is because the night lisa is performing has been hired by the university as a welcome Freshers nite - so because they only have a limted capacity and are expecting lots of students who are buying advanced entry tickets they cant been seen to let in people who are nto students if they are then going to have to turn away people who have already got tickets - cause tehy would then loose there regular student nites as the universities would pull out of all promotions - sucks to those of us who are in the working world and drink there all the time any way - but such is life and there is no way the manager is gonna back sown on this one - good news for the rest of you though think this only applies to Jumpin Jaks as far as im aware

No it's not the same at any of the others I've contacted. How mad is this I contacted the Loughborough SU & you can get in if you're not a student & it's on the Uni's Campus although you have to pay £2 more than a student. Yet you can't get into an ordinary club on students night.
